The Canet de Mar City Council has implemented a new feature on its municipal website to facilitate public consultation of registered tourist homes (HUT) in the municipality.

The Housing and Tourism departments of the Canet de Mar City Council have jointly launched this initiative to strengthen transparency and facilitate public access to official information from the Catalan Tourism Registry. The proposal stems from the latest Local Housing Council, a forum for discussion on the housing situation in the municipality.
The new tool, accessible from the "Habilitation of tourist use homes" section of the municipal website, allows direct consultation on the Generalitat's Open Data portal of which tourist establishments are registered with the Catalan Tourism Registry. This consultation complements existing resources on the requirements and procedures for qualifying a HUT.
This consultation is particularly designed for residents to verify if a property in their neighborhood, suspected of being used for tourist activity, is duly registered. It serves as a public and official source for an initial check, avoiding the use of non-institutional channels.
To access the information, follow this path: Main page → Procedures and management → Urban planning and housing procedures → Habilitation of tourist use homes → Consult tourist accommodation establishments in Canet de Mar. Once on the Catalan Open Data portal, enter "Canet de Mar" in the "Search" field.
If, after consultation, a property is not found in the Registry, citizens can report it to the City Council by submitting a general application, either in person at the Citizen Attention Office (OAC) at Carrer Ample, 11, or online via the Electronic Office. The City Council will evaluate the information and take appropriate action.
Additionally, the Tourism Area offers direct assistance at the Tourist Office, located in the Casa Museu Lluís Domènech i Montaner, from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 AM and 2 PM, to resolve queries related to tourist homes.
