The Barcelona Court of Appeal has sentenced a man to fifteen months and one day in prison and a fine of 7,000 euros for a tweet that incited 'bullying' against a minor at the Turó del Drac School in Canet de Mar.

The ruling deems the condenado's words, which called for harassing the girl until she left the school, as fostering hostility and humiliation, and not protected by freedom of expression. However, the court rejects that the message constituted a hate crime.
The events date back to December 2021, following the decision by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) to mandate 25% of classes in Spanish at the school, at the request of the minor's family. This resolution sparked a heated debate on social media.
This is the second conviction related to this case. Last October, another man received a two-year prison sentence for a similar message targeting the same family on social media.
