The railway entity Adif is developing a project to improve the operational capacity of Tordera station, including the construction of a new siding track.

This intervention in Tordera is part of a set of seven reforms or new station constructions that Adif currently has in the project phase in Catalonia. Although the budget and execution timeline for the Tordera project have not yet been finalized, it joins the numerous actions that Renfe and Adif are undertaking or preparing on the Catalan railway network this summer.
Across Catalonia, over twenty stations are undergoing construction or modernization works this summer. The Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, highlighted that lines R1, R2, and R2 Sud are concentrating the majority of these activities, as they serve 80% of the Rodalies system users. Line R1 is also identified as a priority in the process of transferring competencies.
