Firefighters are working to stabilize a forest fire declared between Tiana and Montgat, which has burned between 6 and 8 hectares and forced the confinement of thousands of residents from nearby towns.

Extinguishing efforts are progressing favorably, and the fire is expected to be stabilized soon. The blaze, which has affected an area of between 6 and 8 hectares according to initial estimates, was fueled by the sea breeze, particularly on its right flank, which has been pushed towards a vineyard area. Although the perimeter is practically enclosed with water lines, the left flank remains active.
The fire prompted the activation of the ES-Alert warning and the precautionary confinement of residents in Sant Fost de Campsentelles, Martorelles, Santa Maria de Martorelles, and Tiana. Currently, confinement is maintained only in the Colònia Bosc and the Alberg Conreria. Civil Protection has reported that the flames have not affected any homes or individuals.
According to provisional data from the Agents Rurals (Rural Agents), the affected area could reach 25 hectares. The large smoke plume generated by the fire was visible from several regions, including Maresme, Barcelonès, and Vallès.
Twenty-three ground crews and eight aerial units are participating in the firefighting efforts. The fire originated in the waste disposal site area between Tiana and Montgat. Authorities have arrested one individual as a potential instigator of the fire, as reported by the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police).
