The swift intervention of extinguishing teams has been crucial in averting a catastrophe in Tiana. Pep Colàs, intervention chief for the Bomberos de la Generalitat, confirmed at 2 PM that efforts had successfully established a perimeter around the fire, halting its spread.
"We cannot declare it controlled yet, but it's a matter of minutes. The fire's perimeter is surrounded by a water line," Colàs stated from the Tiana sports center, designated for the press by the local council.
Initial reports of three large smoke columns emerged around 10:45 AM. The rapid response prevented the fire from spreading, resulting in no personal injuries or damaged homes. Over 90 agents are currently engaged in extinguishing efforts.
The area still causing concern is closest to Vallès, encompassing municipalities such as Montornès del Vallès, Martorelles, and Sant Fost de Campsentelles. The rest of the affected territory, from Tiana to the sea, has been de-confinated.
At 2 PM, two areas remained under precautionary confinement: the Colònia Bosc urbanization and the La Conreria hostel. Civil Protection confirmed the lifting of confinement in other zones and advised against unnecessary outdoor activity.
