The Mossos d'Esquadra are searching for an identified young man who assaulted his partner and mother-in-law with a pot this Thursday afternoon at the victims' home in Calella, Maresme.

The assault took place around three in the afternoon this Thursday on Tramuntana street in Calella, inside the Toyca apartment block. Initial reports suggest that the alleged perpetrator, who has been identified, used a pot to carry out the attack.
The young man's partner, aged around 20, is currently in a state of brain death at the hospital. Her mother was also seriously injured and is admitted in critical condition. Several units of the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) quickly deployed to the scene to assist the victims before rushing them to the hospital.
Neighbors alerted the police after hearing the noise of the assault. Local police officers entered the apartment by breaking down the door, but the attacker had already fled. The building's cameras recorded the young man entering and leaving the block. According to sources close to the investigation, the suspect reportedly has a history of abuse.
An extensive search operation is currently underway around Calella to locate the man, who did not reside at the victims' home and is not originally from the Maresme locality.
