Gran beach has joined the list of certified beaches this year, while Garbí beach has successfully revalidated the distinction. This certification is awarded following an external audit that assesses key aspects such as safety, cleanliness, accessibility, and the quality of leisure services.
The Quality 'Q' Seal is an internationally recognized mark that guarantees a high standard in beach services and management, enhancing the visitor experience.
During the bathing season, Gran beach offers a comprehensive lifeguard and rescue service, a rescue module, eight lifelines, and a designated swimming area. It also provides adapted bathing services with amphibious chairs, adapted crutches, walkways, and assistance for people with reduced mobility. Showers, a dog-friendly zone, and areas for sports activities are also available.
As a new feature this year, Gran beach has incorporated a shaded area primarily for people with reduced mobility. This improvement, along with a similar one at Garbí beach, has been funded by the Barcelona Provincial Council.
Garbí beach was a pioneer in Catalonia in obtaining this distinction in 2004, ranking sixth in Spain. Since then, Calella has maintained a strong commitment to quality, continuously incorporating new services to enhance user comfort.
With these two Quality 'Q' seals, Calella's beaches consolidate their recognition. These are complemented by the Biosphere certificate for Gran, Garbí, and Les Roques beaches, and the Blue Flag awarded to Garbí beach.
