The town of Calella is gearing up for its small Festa Major, dedicated to Sant Quirze and Santa Julita. The celebration will take place from June 12th to 16th and will offer a wide range of activities, with nearly forty events spread across various locations in the town.
One of the notable new additions this year is the installation of a children's amusement fair on the passeig Manuel Puigvert, specifically between Xiri Nou and La Gàbia. This fair will be operational throughout the festival days, expanding the family entertainment options.
One of the most emblematic activities of Calella's festive culture, the 'feres d'aigua' (water festivities), is also being revived. After being suspended in previous years due to drought restrictions, this popular tradition will return on Sunday, June 14th, in the morning. The event will include a parade of traditional beasts and a final large water splash in plaça Lluís Gallart.
The program also includes established events such as the traditional street dinners, with 24 simultaneous gatherings planned for Monday, June 15th, and the Festa Major Mass on the 16th.
Music will be another key highlight of the festival. On Friday, June 12th, the Pati de l’Os will host a concert by Flashy Ice Cream followed by a DJ set. On Saturday, the passeig Manuel Puigvert will be the venue for the traditional Festa Major Ball with the Cobla-Orquestra Montgrins. To conclude the musical program, on Sunday evening, Manu Guix will perform an intimate piano and voice concert, featuring both his own songs and well-known covers.
