According to the union, the Education Inspection is sending communications to schools, reminding them that decisions on collective protest actions cannot be debated or voted on within staff rooms, but must be taken in teacher assemblies. This practice is viewed by the CGT as a form of pressure to hinder the organization of mobilizations.
“"The Education Law of Catalonia clearly establishes in article 146 that the staff room is the body for teacher participation in the control and management of the organization of educational activities and all educational aspects of the center."
The initiative “Aturem les sortides educatives” (Let's Stop Educational Outings), which began in February, has gained significant support, with over a thousand educational centers adhering to the manifesto to not carry out school camps or outings next year. Currently, 1,048 centers are registered on their website.
The territorial services with the most adhesions include Girona (217), Maresme-Vallès Oriental (141), Vallès Occidental (123), Lleida (118), and the Barcelona Education Consortium (101). The teachers who signed the manifesto demand that the Department of Education implement real and structural improvements in the public education system, considering their protest a legitimate pressure measure in the face of an unsustainable situation.
