More than 300 people gathered Friday evening in Calella's Town Hall square to condemn the assault that left a young woman brain dead and her mother in critical condition.

The concentration, called by the Calella council, took place this Friday evening, following the assault on Thursday. The victim, a young woman just over 20 years old, is in a state of brain death, and her mother is hospitalized in critical condition.
The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) continue searching for the aggressor, identified as the girl's partner. The individual assaulted the two women in their home, causing them very serious injuries. The citizen response was immediate, filling the square as a sign of mourning and rejection.

The citizens of Calella have shown their unity and absolute rejection of gender violence.

In other news, the regional president of Junts in Maresme, Carles Bosch, criticized the party's stance regarding the new financing model, while acknowledging that Catalonia cannot renounce the additional 4.7 billion euros that the principle of ordinality would provide.
Finally, the National Police has reactivated the appeal to identify a woman found lifeless on November 3, 2003, on a rural road in Malgrat de Mar, known as “the woman of the road”. The victim was estimated to be about 25 years old at the time of death and presented several injuries.
