The Maresme region is solidifying its leadership in promoting a healthier, safer, and more inclusive leisure model with the addition of Calella, Palafolls, and Tordera to the Q de Festa! program.

With the incorporation of Calella, Palafolls, and Tordera into the Q de Festa! program, the Maresme region now hosts 6 out of the 9 distinguished major festivals in Catalonia, representing 66.6% of the total. This data highlights the territory's commitment to health promotion, risk prevention, and coexistence in festive spaces.
The three municipalities received the Q de Festa! distinction in an event that emphasized the necessary collaboration between administrations and territorial agents to achieve festivals where enjoyment and health care go hand in hand. Representatives from the Consell Comarcal del Maresme, the city councils of Calella, Palafolls, and Tordera, the Barcelona Provincial Council, and the Public Health Secretariat participated in the event.
The Q de Festa! distinction recognizes leisure spaces that implement measures to ensure safety, well-being, and respect for everyone. Measures include the free availability of water, the offering of non-alcoholic beverages, staff training, distribution of preventive materials, and protocols for preventing sexual violence.
The inclusion of Calella, Palafolls, and Tordera brings the number of distinguished major festivals in Catalonia to nine, six of which are located in Maresme, making the region a benchmark in integrating prevention and health promotion into the planning of popular celebrations.
The Q de Festa! program is part of Nits de Qualitat (Quality Nights), an initiative launched nearly 15 years ago by the General Directorate of Addictions of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The initiative promotes healthier and more responsible leisure through community work and the involvement of local agents. The work of La Rula, a service coordinated by the Consell Comarcal del Maresme, has been key in facilitating cooperation between municipalities and promoting preventive actions tailored to the territory's needs.
