Jordi Jiménez Gallego is now serving as the titular justice of the peace for Vandellòs and l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, after taking the oath at the Reus Court and being received by the mayor Assumpció Castellví.

Jordi Jiménez Gallego has officially begun his duties as the titular justice of the peace for Vandellòs and l'Hospitalet de l'Infant. On September 4th, he took the oath before the dean judge of Reus, Diego Álvarez de Juan, and this Thursday, September 14th, he was received by the mayor Assumpció Castellví at the Town Hall of l'Hospitalet de l'Infant.
Jiménez's appointment as titular justice of the peace, for a period of four years, has been made by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC).
The vacancy arose after the term of the previous incumbent, Manel Ricard Sánchez, concluded. Eight individuals applied for the public call opened by the City Council. The municipal Plenary approved the mayor's proposal on January 29th for Jiménez to fill the position.
Mayor Assumpció Castellví highlighted Jiménez's prior experience as a determining factor: 'He already has direct experience in the court's functioning and knows the procedures and the municipality,' she stated.
The new justice of the peace has a career of over 41 years of service in the Local Police of Vandellòs and l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, 25 of which he served as head of the force.
The duties of the justice of the peace include holding conciliation and conflict mediation sessions, presiding over trials for minor offenses, and cooperating with other courts and tribunals. He also intervenes in electoral matters and acts as a bridge between justice and the community.
