According to data provided by the Observatori de Desenvolupament Local of the Consell Comarcal, the monthly variation stood at 0.08%. In year-on-year terms, unemployment has seen a more notable improvement, with a reduction of 3.26%, which means 618 fewer people than in the same period last year.
The unemployment rate in the region currently stands at 7.86%. This percentage is in line with the average for the Barcelona province and is slightly above the Catalan average.
The analysis by municipality reveals territorial disparities. Pineda de Mar, Tordera, and Mataró lead the list with the highest rates, exceeding 9%. Conversely, towns such as Cabrera de Mar, Cabrils, Tiana, and Alella show records below 5%.
Regarding the profile of unemployed people, the data shows a gender gap: while male unemployment has decreased by 0.6%, female unemployment has grown by 0.29%. The majority group continues to be women over 54 years of age with secondary education and in long-term unemployment.
