Els Maduixots renew board and prepare for the 2026 castellers season

The annual assembly, held in Palafolls, ratified Jan Serra as the new president and approved a protocol against child sexual abuse.

The Castellers Group of Alt Maresme and Selva Marítima, Els Maduixots, held its annual assembly in Palafolls on Sunday, February 1, renewing positions and approving the calendar for the 2026 season.

The new board of directors will be led by Jan Serra, from Calella, as president, and Judit Moreso as vice-president, replacing Bernat Sanjuan. Regarding the technical team, the heads of the group, Mercè Masferrer and Pol Torrent, both from Tordera, remain in their positions, although the heads of the pinyes, troncs, and canalla sections were renewed.
During the meeting, attended by about fifty members, all items on the agenda were unanimously approved. Among the most notable agreements is the ratification of a new protocol for the prevention of and action against child sexual abuse, in addition to the previous year's financial statements and the budget for the 2026 fiscal year.
Els Maduixots begin the season with rehearsals on Friday, February 20, at El Forroll de Palafolls. The first performance day is scheduled for March 22 in Sant Celoni, as part of a calendar that includes 18 planned performances. The group is also preparing for this year's Castells Competition, although their classification is not yet secured.
