Firefighters have stabilized a forest fire in Tiana (Maresme) this Friday afternoon, which burned approximately 48 hectares and temporarily confined several towns.

The fire, which started at 10:45 AM, presented at least three distinct hotspots and spread rapidly through a ravine area, advancing towards Turó d’en Galceran. The swift action of the extinguishing teams, supported by a nearby vineyard area acting as a natural firebreak, helped halt the fire's progression and prevent it from reaching the Serralada Litoral Park.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested an individual after several witnesses identified them as the alleged perpetrator. The arrest occurred during the firefighting efforts, which involved up to 48 firefighter units, including water vehicles, aerial resources, and specialized forest action teams.
During the emergency, residents of the Colonia Bosc urbanization and the La Conreria hostel were ordered to shelter in place, as were the municipalities of Sant Fost de Campsentelles, Martorelles, Santa Maria de Martorelles, and Tiana. Later, the general confinement was lifted, but it remained in effect for the Mas Llombart and Mas Corts urbanizations (Sant Fost) and Mas Coll (Alella).

"Once the head of the fire was anchored, firefighters focused on the flanks, and by early afternoon, with the perimeter fully contained by water lines, it was declared stabilized."

Generalitat Firefighters
After the fire was stabilized, firefighter crews continued working throughout the afternoon to secure the perimeter. However, resources were progressively withdrawn to ensure their availability elsewhere in Catalonia, where the risk of fire remains high.
