The Maresme Regional Council approved an Institutional Declaration requesting the Departments of Territory and Health to urgently create a direct bus line to the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital in Badalona.

The demand addresses the serious difficulties in public transport access faced by the population of Maresme to reach the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, popularly known as Can Ruti, which is the reference center for high-complexity healthcare.

Access to health cannot depend on the place of residence or the available means of transport.

The Institutional Declaration was formalized and unanimously approved in the last regional plenary session, proposed by the En Comú Podem group. This initiative is part of the mobility improvement demands that the Regional Council had previously submitted to the Department of Territory.
The request is also supported by nearly 18,000 citizen signatures collected to promote the creation of this direct bus line between the municipalities of Maresme and the hospital located in the upper area of Badalona.
The agreement urges the departments of Territory and Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya to study the viability of the service and promote its implementation as soon as possible, reinforcing the commitment to accessible public healthcare for all citizens.
