The Maresme region recorded 7,200 workplace accidents in 2025, marking a 6.7% decrease compared to the previous year, according to official local data.

The annual report from the Maresme County Council highlights that there were 516 fewer incidents than in 2024. Despite this improvement, three people lost their lives in work-related accidents, matching last year's death toll.
Two of the fatalities occurred during working hours, while one was an in itinere accident during a commute. Over 90% of all reported cases took place at the primary workplace, with more than half of the victims requiring medical leave.
While sectors like industry and construction saw a reduction in risks, the agricultural sector saw an increase in accidents, currently holding the highest incidence rate in the region.
