The park, one of the city's most popular green spaces, has been closed for over a month due to safety concerns. The historic winds in mid-February caused around 100 trees to fall across the city, with several impacting the park's interior. Local authorities expect to welcome visitors back during the weekend of March 28th-29th or in early April.
“"Different actions have been prioritized, such as the felling of four pine trees and the pruning of other specimens."
Starting Monday, March 23rd, specialized teams will intensify work on weakened trees. These interventions are necessary to eliminate risks during future weather events. In addition to forestry management, workers are repairing the perimeter fence and carrying out general gardening and new planting tasks to prepare the site for the holiday season.
