A resident of Mataró, identified as Montse, and her 93-year-old father have been confined to their home since last Friday due to the unexpected installation of a metallic fence blocking their only access road.

Montse has used the same dirt road, which for decades was an open field near the Mataró beach, to access her home for over 40 years. Although workers had been operating in the area for weeks, the metallic fence cutting off the path was installed last Friday and completed on Monday, leaving the family without vehicle or pedestrian access.

"They told me the property owner would give me a key to open and close it, but nobody has delivered anything. We have been isolated."

The situation is particularly serious because Montse lives with her father, aged 93, who has very limited mobility. After contacting the Police, she was advised that, in case of emergency, they would have to call the Fire Department to tear down the fence.
When contacting the Mataró City Council, they initially responded that, being the weekend, nothing could be done. Later, on Monday, the council suggested an alternative exit on the upper part of the property, but this path has not been used for half a century and is in an almost impassable condition. The family continues to wait for a solution.
