This Tuesday night was tense in the Cerdanyola neighborhood of Mataró, with riots and arrests following the eviction of a family with four minors.

The Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police) carried out several arrests and identifications following the incidents. The city's mayor, David Bote, confirmed he was monitoring the situation and announced a police reinforcement in the area to ensure safety.
The morning's police operation, which led to the eviction of a family in the Cerdanyola neighborhood, was already marked by protests and tension with about fifty demonstrators. The CUP and the Housing Union have denounced what they consider "gratuitous violence" by the ARRO riot police. The eviction resulted in three minors being arrested.
During the night's disturbances, according to local police sources, at least six dumpsters were set on fire and damage occurred to urban furniture, including graffiti on the Civic Center and the launching of pyrotechnics.
The police operation and patrols continued into the early morning, although the incidents were reported as concluded before midnight.
