The Consell Comarcal del Maresme held a working meeting this Wednesday with administrations and emergency bodies to address the increase in forest mortality in the region, which doubled in 2024.

Estimated data presented at the meeting, which included representatives from the Generalitat, the Diputació, the Montnegre-Corredor and Serralada Litoral Natural Parks, revealed that the number of dead trees in Maresme in 2024 was double that of the previous year.

Forest management efforts must focus on preserving healthy forest mass and strengthening the resilience of forests against the climate emergency.

Separately, the Corporació de Salut del Maresme i la Selva is the focus of the second season of the docuseries Hospital de proximitat, premiered last Sunday, January 11, on La Xarxa.
The documentary series, which consists of 12 episodes and airs every Sunday at ten at night, reflects the most intense moments in hospitals, focusing this year on the Gynecology and Obstetrics service.
