The CreuBlanca Maresme Hospital, inaugurated in Mataró in January 2024, has announced a major expansion scheduled for 2026 to significantly increase its healthcare and surgical capacity in the Maresme region.

This far-reaching expansion includes the addition of 22 new hospitalization rooms, a surgical block with four state-of-the-art operating rooms, and 26 new recovery boxes (REA). The goal is to increase both the number of available beds and the complexity and volume of surgical interventions, strengthening the private center's role in the region.

"We are not only increasing beds and operating rooms, but also incorporating advanced technology that improves patient safety and the efficiency of medical procedures throughout the Maresme."

Jordi Tobella · Head of Management and Operations at CreuBlanca
The announcement was made public during the institutional celebration of CreuBlanca's 75th anniversary, held precisely at the Mataró hospital. This strategic commitment reaffirms the healthcare group's dedication to the Maresme, seeking to consolidate a care model based on clinical quality, technological innovation, and personalized attention.
The CreuBlanca Maresme Hospital occupies the former headquarters of Caixa Laietana, located on Pablo Iglesias street, and features a six-story building. Since its opening, the center has offered comprehensive medical care in over 20 specialties, helping to reduce patient travel to Barcelona.
