The events took place near Carrer Lepant, as the police vehicle, which was performing an urgent service, was driving towards Girona with its acoustic and light signals activated. The collision occurred while the pedestrian was correctly crossing the crosswalk with the green light.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was immediately attended to by emergency services. Despite the impact, she was transferred to Hospital de Mataró conscious to receive medical attention and assess the extent of her injuries.

The Mataró Local Police force issued a statement deeply regretting the incident and wishing the affected woman a speedy recovery. An internal investigation has currently been opened to accurately determine the causes and dynamics of the accident.
