The municipality of Montgat is preparing to host a new edition of the Autumn Cultural event, scheduled to take place between September and November. The initiative includes a varied program of cultural activities such as concerts, contemporary dance performances, participatory workshops, and professional theatre productions. The main objective is to make culture accessible to all citizens through quality offerings.
The cultural season will kick off on Friday, September 25th, with a concert at the Sala Pau Casals in the Tirant lo Blanc Library. The musical group, led by Jordi Torrent, will present their new album titled SOL, delivering a live performance that blends new compositions with their characteristic musical style.
Contemporary dance will feature prominently with the Tardor en Dansa (Autumn in Dance) cycle. As a prelude, on Wednesday, September 30th, a free workshop titled Jugar el cos, una dansa per a tothom (Playing the Body, a Dance for Everyone) will be held in the library's same hall. This activity, open to all ages and requiring no prior experience, will need pre-registration.
On Saturday, October 3rd, the Plaça de les Mallorquines will transform into an open-air stage to host four contemporary dance performances. This event is part of the Tardor en Dansa circuit, promoted by the Catalan Association of Dance Professionals (APdC) and the Association of Professional Dance Companies of Catalonia (ACPDC), within the framework of the Generalitat de Catalunya's Dance Promotion Plan 2023-2026. Audiences can enjoy performances by companies such as Jarana SP (Laia Santanach), Les Passants A,B (Patrícia Hastewell and Noé Ferey), Dosis (UnaiUna), and Pelvis Loca (Elelei).
Professional theatre will also play a significant role in the autumn program, with three productions starring renowned Catalan actors and actresses. On October 18th, Carme Sansa will perform the monologue Rose, directed by Daniel Anglès, recounting the life of a woman through the major events of the 20th century. On November 15th, El Parc will premiere, a comedy directed by Carme Pla and starring Miquel Sitjar and David Olivares, which humorously and sensitively addresses themes of fatherhood and personal relationships. The theatre season will conclude on November 22nd with the play Loop, performed by Ramon Madaula and Júlia Genís, under the direction of Mònica Bofill, exploring family dynamics and generational differences.
All theatre performances will take place at 6:30 PM in the Sala Pau Casals of the Tirant lo Blanc Library. Tickets will cost 4 euros and can be purchased in advance through Entràpolis or on the day of the performance from 6 PM onwards.
