The Tiana Town Hall has launched a shock plan to control the presence of rodents in the Ciutadella area and along the riera d'en Font, after recent heavy rains flooded burrows and encouraged their proliferation.

Recent rainfall has caused the flooding of several rodent burrows in the riera d'en Font, leading to their proliferation in the Ciutadella area. In response, the council has initiated an action plan to manage their presence, prevent reproduction, and halt their spread.
The municipal operation includes interventions in local parks, at the Tiziana school, and in streets surrounding residential areas in Ciutadella. Municipal brigades, in coordination with a specialized pest control company, are carrying out various actions that will continue for the coming weeks to ensure effective control.
A specific treatment for the area's sewage system will be conducted shortly to enhance rodent control. Among the actions already underway, located burrows and potential shelters around the school have been sealed, alongside clearing work and the installation of traps along the educational center's perimeter.
Additionally, special double-trap bins designed for high effectiveness and safety will be deployed in the courtyards of Tiziana school and in Doctor Barraquer and Salvador Espriu parks. The Town Hall will maintain monitoring and control efforts in the coming weeks to minimize disturbances and prevent recurrence.
