Martínez Lara (Barcelona, 1996) secured the sixth position in the overall ranking of the prestigious competition, which took place at the Liceu in Barcelona, honoring the memory of the tenor Francesc Viñas (1863-1933), a native of Moià. The vocalist accumulated a total of seven special awards, notably the Plácido Domingo Award for the best Spanish singer, the inaugural Oratorio-Lied Prize, and the award for Best Mozart Interpreter.
Her status as the best Catalan singer grants her a reward of 2,000 euros, provided by the Moià City Council and Joventuts Musicals de Moià. This recognition includes a contract to perform at the next edition of the Francesc Viñas International Music Festival, scheduled for August in the Moianès town. Thanks to the various prizes obtained, the soprano has accumulated a total of 21,000 euros in prize money.
The multi-award-winning soprano Elionor Martínez regularly sings under the direction of Jordi Savall in La Capella Nacional de Catalunya and has been selected as a Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organisation for the 2026/2027 season.
The winner, trained at the Conservatori del Liceu and the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, will also participate in renowned festivals such as the Schubertíada. The overall contest was won by Ukrainian bass-baritone Vladyslav Buialskyi, who led an entirely Ukrainian podium. The competition will conclude this Sunday at the Liceu with the traditional Winners' Concert, accompanied by the Liceu Symphony Orchestra.
