The mayoral decree, signed this Tuesday, January 20, establishes the delegation of powers to the different councilors. Mayor Marc Chavalera (ERC) assumes the functions of Head of Personnel and maintains the key councilorships of Economy and Finance, Human Resources, the Alcanar Municipal Music Band, and Fisheries, which now incorporates Agriculture and Rural Environment.
Regarding the deputy mayoralties, Neus Sancho (PSC) remains the First Deputy Mayor, responsible for Governance and Security, Local Police, and Strategic Projects. Xavier Barrera, Mar Sancho, and Àxel Sorolla (all from ERC) continue as Second, Third, and Fourth Deputy Mayors, respectively.
The main novelty in the new cabinet structure is the incorporation of councilor Anna Chillida (ERC), who joins the governing team managing five key departments, including Commerce, Youth, and Citizen Participation.
The rest of the reorganization shows few changes. Xavier Barrera retains Education, Culture, and Festivals; while Àxel Sorolla continues leading Sports, Environment, and Health. Mireia Garriga (ERC) takes over Urban Planning and Heritage, and incorporates the Alcanar Platja councilorship. Finally, Mar Sancho manages six areas, notably Communication, Social Affairs, Equality, and Tourism.
