For over a month, the local establishments, along with those from L'Ametlla de Mar, L'Ampolla, and La Ràpita, will total 47 restaurants across the Ebro coastline. All of them will feature the mantis shrimp (galera) as the star product, paired with wines from the DO Terra Alta, emphasizing local sourcing and regional produce.
The days highlight the maritime identity of the territory and the importance of the fishing sector, becoming a key attraction for gastronomic tourism.
The twelve restaurants in Alcanar and les Cases d'Alcanar participating in the initiative are: Bitácora, Can Manel, Casa Esquerra, Casa Ramon, El Nàutic les Cases, Els Jardins Arròs & Brases, Hotel Carlos III, La Mar, La Marinada, Les Barques 'Can Joan', Les Palmeres, and Magda Espai Gastronòmic.
This culinary offering is complemented by the opportunity to discover nearby natural and heritage sites, such as the mouth of the Sénia river in Sòl-de-Riu, the Civil War bunkers, the Iberian settlement of La Moleta del Remei, or La Foradada, in the Montsià massif. Furthermore, the local gastronomic calendar will be reinforced by hosting the Repsol Solets de Primavera Gala in Alcanar at the end of March.
