The Ebro Delegation of the College of Architects of Catalonia has launched the eighth edition of its Ephemeral Architecture Competition, which this year is inspired by the 'Carrousel' theme to accompany the DeltaChamber Music Festival 2026.

This initiative, now in its eighth year, stems from a collaboration with the DeltaChamber Music Festival, which in 2026 will celebrate its eleventh edition. The winning proposal will not only be part of the chamber concerts but will also be integrated into the ephemeral installations of the thirteenth edition of the A Cel Obert 2026 festival.
The selected ephemeral intervention will serve as a backdrop for the central concerts of the DeltaChamber Music Festival in the lobby of the Museum of the Ebro Lands in Amposta. Subsequently, it will be exhibited at the A Cel Obert 2026 festival in Tortosa, thereby expanding its visibility and promoting ephemeral architecture in the region.
The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, June 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Architects, architecture students, and ephemeral architecture students can participate, either individually or collectively. The competition rules are available on the COAC website.

Chamber music transforms into a journey of lights, colors, and emotions through the constant change of state, of perspective… like an enchanting antique carousel that captivates us with its magic, forms, and movement, inviting us to let ourselves be carried away.

The central theme of the eleventh edition of the DeltaChamber Music Festival is 'Carrousel', aiming to evoke a sensory journey through chamber music. The main concerts, titled 'Carrousel: Program 1' and 'Carrousel: Program 2', will focus on brass instruments, which will interact with strings, woodwinds, piano, and percussion to create a rich and dynamic sound universe.
This collaboration between the DeltaChamber Music Festival, A Cel Obert, and the Ebro Delegation of COAC began three years ago with the goal of strengthening synergies between different artistic and cultural disciplines, offering a complete and exciting artistic experience that merges architecture and music.
