The decision, made this Tuesday, came with no surprises, as Tomàs was the sole candidate to lead the list. This will be the fourth time Tomàs heads the republican candidacy, having done so since the 2011 elections.
Since his first victory with an absolute majority in 2015, which made him the first republican mayor of Amposta since the return of democracy, Adam Tomàs has successfully renewed his mandate twice more. He secured 16 councilors in 2019 and 11 councilors in 2023, solidifying his position at the helm of the local government.
“"I present myself with all humility, but also with all the enthusiasm and determination. We have the strength, the team, and the desire to continue building the Amposta of the future. This is not a personal project; it is a collective project that is only possible through everyone's involvement."
The candidate expressed his conviction that ERC can confront the right and far-right, seeking a majority that allows for the continuation of coherent and transformative policies. According to Tomàs, this is the best way to guarantee social progress, stability, and the necessary policies for Amposta.
He emphasized that the city is at a crucial moment, with historical projects underway that need to be realized. He affirmed that the experience, involvement, and management capacity of Esquerra Republicana are fundamental to moving these challenges forward.
With this ratification, Adam Tomàs joins three other candidates already confirmed by ERC for the 2027 municipal elections: Albert Salvadó in La Ràpita, Joan Aubanell in Gandesa, and Ivan Garcia in Roquetes.
