The Alcanar Town Council has presented the second edition of the Water Culture Days for 2026, focusing on current challenges related to climate change and emergency prevention during heavy rainfall.

Following the 2024 edition which focused on historical memory, this year's event in Alcanar takes a step forward to address the central role of water in a context of extreme weather. The goal is to prepare the municipality for new environmental scenarios through public education.

"The objective is to generate collective knowledge around an essential element such as water, looking towards the future to prepare the municipality."

Xavier Barrera · Councillor for Culture
The program includes three citizen assemblies where the council will explain future prevention projects. Key activities include a lecture by meteorologist Francesc Mauri and the presentation of the book Una bota, un carro i un matxo by Ramon Adell in local schools.
