The town of Alcanar hosted the Repsol Guide gala this Monday at the José Antonio Valls Theater, awarding eleven new Soletes distinctions to restaurants across Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre.

This culinary event highlights the gastronomic excellence of southern Catalonia, coinciding with the region's status as the 2025 World Region of Gastronomy. The Soletes recognize charming, high-quality local establishments that offer authentic experiences. During the ceremony, officials emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism and the professional talent found in local kitchens.

"Alcanar is a privileged municipality with orchards and the sea, which connects perfectly with the Soletes that reward local gastronomy."

Marc Chavalera · Mayor of Alcanar
New awardees include Arròs & Brases in Alcanar, Cinteta in La Ràpita, and Herbivore in Reus. The gala concluded with a tasting menu by chef Vicent Guimerà from L'Antic Molí, featuring local delicacies such as Ebre Delta duck and La Ràpita prawns, showcasing the rich natural pantry of the Montsià region.
