The Alcanar Town Council has presented the second edition of the Water Culture Conference for 2026, focusing on future challenges related to climate change and flood prevention.

Following the 2024 edition which focused on historical memory, this year's event in the Montsià region aims to address immediate realities. The sessions will focus on the central role of water in the current environmental context and the necessity of preparedness for extreme weather.

"We want citizens to understand what happens during intense rain situations and, above all, to know how to act."

Anna Chillida · City Councilor for Citizen Participation
The schedule features three citizen assemblies and a keynote speech by meteorologist Francesc Mauri. Additionally, the book Una bota, un carro i un matxo by Ramon Adell will be presented in local schools to engage younger generations with water heritage.
