Commemorative dinner in Amposta's Church Square

More than 500 people gathered last night in Amposta's Church Square to participate in a commemorative dinner marking the 250th anniversary of the construction of the Church of the Assumption.

The event transformed the public space into a large open-air dining area, creating a memorable scene in the heart of the town's old quarter. The evening served to honor the significant architectural and cultural heritage that the temple represents for the city and for the entire Montsià region.
During the dinner, attendees enjoyed various performances that added a festive and traditional touch. The Xicuelos del Delta human tower group offered a demonstration, while the Lo Minotaure devils ignited the atmosphere with a spectacular fire show.
The celebration events will continue this Sunday with a solemn mass, which will take place at 12:00 inside the temple and will be presided over by the bishop. The Coral de la Lira will be responsible for the musical part of the religious service.
As a highlight of Sunday's events, the Xicuelos del Delta will make an entrance into the church in procession and build a human tower pillar inside. This symbolic gesture will unite the human tower tradition with the religious commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Church of the Assumption.
