The Montsià Social Services Foundation has launched a new physical exercise program at the Amposta Elderly Residence and Day Center, aiming to improve the health, mobility, and quality of life of its residents.

This initiative includes adapted functional training, led by a sports physical educator. In its initial phase, the project is being developed as a pilot study to evaluate the effects of adapted physical exercise on participants.
During this period, various aspects will be measured, such as improvements in strength, balance, mobility, and autonomy, as well as the emotional well-being and motivation of the residents. Once the evaluation is complete, the program's continuity and the most suitable format will be decided, whether maintaining large groups or working with smaller ones.

Physical exercise is a key tool to prevent the loss of functional capacity and promote the independence of older people.

FUSSMONT emphasizes the importance of physical activity in maintaining functional capacity and promoting the independence of the elderly. Furthermore, the program integrates physical work with recreational and social activities, fostering participation and cohesion among residents.
The project collaborates with specialized professionals in physical exercise prescription, who provide individualized monitoring to ensure the safety and effectiveness of each session, adapting them to the capabilities of each user.
