The new funds will be allocated to different areas, including the local administration's ordinary expenses and the repair of damage caused by the floods in 2025.
The most significant grant comes from the ImpulsDipta program of the Provincial Council of Tarragona, amounting to €132,000, which will be entirely dedicated to the City Council's ordinary expenses.
Additionally, a grant of €60,000 has been received from the State, as part of the PENTA II Plan. These funds will be used for improvements to the decontamination system, including the replacement of a tank and system restructuring.
The Provincial Council of Tarragona has also awarded €120,000 for the repair of damage caused by the 2025 floods. Of this amount, €75,000 is designated for damage resulting from the DANA (a severe weather event), and the remaining €40,000 will be allocated to repairs for the sewage system and public roads.
“"These are 310,000 euros arriving in Amposta that allow us to move forward in various areas."
The Mayor of Amposta, Adam Tomàs, highlighted the importance of these grants, emphasizing the City Council's ability to secure funds from other administrations. According to Tomàs, these funds provide additional leeway to cover both day-to-day expenses and specific projects necessary for the city's development.
