Recovery and cleaning works of an old ditch or drainage canal in a rural area near a populated center.

The Amposta City Council and the Right Ebro Irrigators Community have started recovering the old main ditch to use it as a storm drain for rainwater in the Ullals de Baltasar area.

This action responds to a commitment made to residents following the floods caused by the Dana storm in the autumn of 2025. The main goal is to minimize flood risks and enhance safety for both residents and businesses operating in this dispersed area.

"the recovery of the main ditch is a clear demonstration of the collaboration between the City Council and the irrigators community to improve the lives of people living in flood-prone areas and guarantee the safety of businesses."

The works, initiated by the Amposta City Council and the Right Ebro Irrigators Community, will allow the old main ditch to be used as a drainage channel for stormwater that typically causes issues in the Ullals de Baltasar area.
