The Amposta Town Council finalized its aid request to the Generalitat on Tuesday, seeking €1.83 million to cover half the damage caused by the 2025 floods in the Montsià region.

Of the €1,835,962.37 requested, the majority, €1,128,993.08, will be allocated to repairing 22 affected rural roads, mainly those in the areas of the Averia, old Rota, Núvols, and Pins-Les Comes ravines. The request also includes €82,000 for power lines in the Oriola industrial estate.
The remaining €624,153.96 is distributed among various damaged municipal facilities. Repairs are needed at the Agustí Barberà Institute, the football field, the rowing club, the Lo Pati museum, and the Miquel Granell School. The repair of the municipal swimming pool roof, one of the most expensive damages, is budgeted at €578,414.57.

"All administrations visited the territory and committed to creating aid lines and increasing the speed and impact of the subsidies."

Mayor Adam Tomàs stressed that extreme weather events, such as the DANA storms, “are increasingly larger” and represent an “immense effort” for local authorities. He noted that damages from the 2023 and 2024 DANA events required an investment of nearly €1.1 million from the council.
Tomàs has asked the Generalitat to resolve the application quickly, without waiting until the end of the year, and urged the Spanish government to convene the promised aid lines to finance the other half of the total costs, aiming to reduce the nearly two-year gap between damage occurrence and aid reception.
