The southern section of the bridge on Sant Josep street in La Ràpita, which spans the Solito ravine, collapsed overnight without causing any injuries, after sustaining severe damage from last October's heavy rains.

The Local Police received notification of the incident in the early hours of the morning. Immediately, Firefighters and municipal workers were dispatched to the site to assess the situation and cordon off the area, ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.

The city council has announced that the remaining standing part of the structure will be demolished in the coming days. This action is a preliminary step towards the construction of a new bridge that will replace the current one, restoring normalcy to the area.
