The southern part of la Ràpita's main bridge collapsed this morning, an incident attributed to the damage caused by the heavy rains that struck the Terres de l'Ebre region on October 12.

Fortunately, the collapse did not result in any personal injuries or serious consequences, as reported by the local council. Immediately after the incident, Firefighters and municipal workers were dispatched to the area to assess the situation and implement appropriate measures.
The municipal government of la Ràpita has announced that the structure will be demolished in the coming days to make way for the construction of a new bridge. This decision had been anticipated, as days after the storms, the mayor of the municipality had already stated that the Sant Josep street bridge, which crosses the Solito ravine, showed structural damage making it unviable and requiring replacement.

"In the coming days, the structure will be demolished, before a new one is built."
