A coordinated operation between the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guardia Civil has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal group dedicated to ram-raid robberies in jewelry stores, with incidents in la Sénia and Flix.

The joint investigation by the DIC of the Mossos d'Esquadra and various units of the Guardia Civil has successfully dismantled a criminal organization specializing in forced entry robberies at jewelry stores throughout Spain. This group is allegedly responsible for the assault on the Arrufat jewelry store in Plaça Major de la Sénia and the Losada jewelry store in Flix, both occurring in February 2026.
The operation led to the arrest of six individuals, aged between 27 and 60 years, who are attributed a total of 27 crimes committed between November 2025 and March 2026. In addition to the Catalan towns, the group operated in various locations such as Benicàssim (Castellón), Sonseca (Toledo), Andorra (Teruel), Villarejo de Salvanes (Madrid), and Campohermoso-Níjar (Almería). The estimated total value of the stolen jewelry, vehicles used, and material damages amounts to approximately one million euros.
The group members operated with meticulous coordination and a clear division of tasks. They conducted prior surveillance and thorough reconnaissance of establishments, carefully selecting targets before executing the robberies. To carry out the assaults, they concealed their faces, used gloves to hinder police identification, and employed the ram-raid method, using high-powered vehicles, often stolen or with manipulated license plates, to violently access the premises. Once inside, they quickly stole high-value jewelry and watches, while other group members secured the escape.
The gang possessed significant logistical capabilities, allowing them to travel between different jurisdictions and maintain continuous criminal activity across various parts of the territory. Investigations revealed that the stolen jewelry was immediately sold in second-hand establishments, which greatly complicated its recovery and traceability.
In the final phase of the operation, five searches were conducted in properties and a gold and jewelry resale establishment in the provinces of Castellón, Madrid, and Toledo. During these interventions, items from the robberies and other elements of interest for the investigation were seized. The six detainees are charged with crimes including belonging to a criminal group, aggravated robbery, vehicle theft, larceny, document forgery, and receiving stolen goods. The 4th instructional court of the Court of First Instance of Castellón de la Plana has ordered the provisional imprisonment of four of the detainees.
