The president of the Ebro Federation of Esquerra, Albert Salvadó, has expressed his concern over the lack of sensitivity and ambition from the Government and the Socialist Party towards the Terres de l'Ebre, particularly in key projects for the territory.

During a meeting of the Party's Institutional Coordination Committee held in Santa Bàrbara, Salvadó emphasized the need to regain ambition in territorial projects and establish a distinct model to ensure the region's progress. He lamented that neither the PSC nor the Generalitat Government show the necessary sensitivity to provide the Terres de l'Ebre with the services they require.

"To guarantee the progress of the Terres de l’Ebre, it is necessary to recover the ambition of the projects for the territory and for its own territorial model. But neither the Socialist Party nor the Generalitat government have the sensitivity, nor the ambition, for the Terres de l’Ebre to have this or to have the services they need."

The ERC leader denounced the silence and inaction of the territorial government and socialist mayors regarding various issues. As an example, he cited the railway service situation, with the R15 line out of service for months and no information on its resolution, and the need for more Avant trains on the R16 line to connect with metropolitan areas.
Furthermore, Salvadó expressed his opposition to a public transport governance model subordinate to Tarragona, arguing that management should originate from the Terres de l'Ebre itself, to avoid a setback in territorial management.
He also voiced concern about the evolution of the Catalan Territorial Sectoral Plan for Renewable Energies (PLATER). He insisted that the Terres de l'Ebre do not want more or fewer wind turbines than the rest of the country, and that Catalonia must make a similar effort to what was already done in the region almost twenty years ago, especially in Terra Alta, before considering new wind farms.

"We have always said that in the Terres de l’Ebre we do not want one less wind turbine than the rest of the country, but neither do we want one more. And now Catalonia needs to make the effort we made almost twenty years ago in the Terres de l’Ebre and, therefore, when everyone has as much wind energy installed as we do here, especially in Terra Alta, we will then consider whether new wind farms are needed, but for now there is still a long way to go in the rest of the country."

Finally, during the meeting, government aid to municipalities affected by fires and floods was discussed, noting that, almost a year later, pending actions and problems persist, despite parliamentary commitments to adapt aid procedures to the reality of climate change.
