Councillor Èric Esteban will be the lead candidate for Aliança Catalana in Amposta for the upcoming municipal elections, as confirmed by the party this March 19.

The official announcement took place at the Parliament of Catalonia, where party leader Sílvia Orriols introduced Esteban as the first confirmed candidate for the party in the capital of the Montsià region. The local politician is already a member of the current town council, though his political affiliation has shifted.
Èric Esteban began the current term representing Junts per Amposta – Compromís Municipal, holding the second position on their electoral list. However, just over a month ago, he decided to leave the municipal group to become a non-attached member of the council, breaking ties with his former party.
This move led to a dispute with his previous political group. In a public statement, Junts demanded that Esteban resign his seat and criticized him for having held discussions with other political organizations prior to his departure.
