This initiative seeks to attract active tourists who value sustainability, high-quality facilities, and services, and who are keen to explore the region. The intention is for these visitors to become ambassadors for the area in their home country, contributing to the internationalization of the Terres de l'Ebre.
The participants have had the opportunity to test a modern, collapsible, and sustainable boat, owned by the Institut per al Desenvolupament de les Comarques de l'Ebre (IDECE), designed to facilitate river navigation. The route will be divided into four stages, including a descent through towns such as Ascó, Benifallet, Tortosa, and Gola de Migjorn, before reaching the Alfacs Bay and la Ràpita. The logistics for this journey will be managed by the Club de Rem de Tortosa.
This new tourism product is the result of contacts established between Delta Ebre Port and the German Rowing Federation during the Boot Düsseldorf fair in January 2025. Following a scouting trip to the region in late March 2025, the proposal was defined and is now being promoted in the German market, becoming a reality in the area this week.
The promotional effort is led by the Delta Ebre Port group, which includes Ports de la Generalitat, the City Council of la Ràpita, the Tourism Board of the Diputació de Tarragona in the Terres de l'Ebre, and the Chamber of Commerce of Tortosa. The Catalan Tourism Agency, IDECE, and the Club de Rem Tortosa have also collaborated on the project.
