The town of La Ràpita is reviving the Festa de la Plantada this year, a celebration dedicated to one of the territory's most emblematic agricultural traditions. The event will take place on Saturday, June 6th, starting at 11 AM, at the Ròtula Delta space, located behind the Museu de la Mar de l’Ebre.
This year, the festival introduces a significant novelty with a change of location. The Councilor for Tourism, Helena Queral, explained that the move to the Ròtula Delta space is due to the availability of a small municipal rice paddy, which will allow the demonstration to be held in a notable natural setting.
The day will begin at 11 AM at the white huts of Ròtula Delta. From there, attendees will proceed to the municipal rice paddy to witness a demonstration of traditional rice planting by local planters. Afterwards, the celebration will continue at the same location with a jota dance performed by the Esbart Dansaire Rapitenc and a tasting of rapitenc vermouth.
Helena Queral expressed gratitude for the participants' collaboration, emphasizing the importance of preserving and transmitting local agricultural heritage. "Thanks to our planters, every year we can recreate the experience and enjoy their knowledge of traditional planting," she stated.
All activities are free and will take place approximately between 11 AM and 1 PM. The councilor encouraged citizens to participate, describing it as "an ideal plan for Saturday morning" to experience a representative tradition up close in a unique environment.
