The transaction, formalized before a notary for 350,000 euros plus VAT, will allow both services to be consolidated in a more central and accessible location, adjacent to the municipal headquarters. This measure aims to simplify administrative processes for residents, avoiding the need to travel to different parts of the town for various errands.
Mayor Xavi Reverté highlighted that the purchase addresses a long-standing demand and represents a future investment to provide professionals with dignified and modern facilities, thereby improving citizen services. Reverté emphasized the commitment to investing in municipal property.
The Councillor for Governance, Marc Brunet, noted that the new police station will significantly improve working conditions for the Local Police force, which has grown in recent years, offering greater safety and functionality.
Meanwhile, the Councillor for Social Policies, Noelia Belmonte, explained that consolidating Social Services on a single floor will enhance internal coordination and user care, featuring a unified reception for increased discretion and proximity.
This relocation will also indirectly benefit the Senior Citizens' Center, which can expand its facilities by occupying the current Social Services space, gaining more room for activities.
The next step will involve drafting the preliminary and executive projects to define the spatial distribution and determine the specific investment required for the building's adaptation and the timeline for the relocation.
