A motorcyclist lost their life early this morning in a tragic traffic accident on the T-2021 road, connecting La Ràpita with Poble Nou del Delta, within the municipality of La Ràpita, in the Montsià region.
According to information provided by the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT), the Mossos d'Esquadra received the alert about the incident at 02:19 AM this Saturday, June 6, 2026. The incident took place at kilometer 1 of the aforementioned road.
For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle rider veered off the road. Unfortunately, as a result of the impact, the victim died at the scene.
Two patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra and three units from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel were unable to save the motorcyclist's life.
With this new fatality, the total number of deaths on Catalan roads reaches 53 since the beginning of 2026, according to provisional data from the SCT. Of these, 22 were motorcyclists, a group that remains particularly vulnerable in road safety statistics. The exact circumstances leading to the accident are still under investigation.
