The Catalan Government's decision to suspend all educational and non-urgent health activities this Thursday due to wind alerts has sparked anger in Montsià and Baix Ebre.

Local residents in the Terres de l'Ebre region argue that the closure is an 'exaggerated' measure. While wind gusts reached 77 km/h in Amposta and 103 km/h in el Perelló, locals claim these conditions are common in the area and have never previously triggered such restrictive actions.

"What upsets me is this centralism that is usually applied because the wind here today is very common. But since it was windy in Barcelona, they had to stop the whole country."

The suspension has caused significant childcare issues in towns like la Ràpita. Parents reported having to use vacation days or work from home with children present, especially as the closure follows a teachers' strike and coincides with Carnival holidays in municipalities such as Amposta.
