Seven people suffered carbon monoxide poisoning early Friday morning in la Ràpita, Montsià, caused by the poor combustion of a barbecue located in an interior courtyard.

The Bombers de la Generalitat were alerted at 3:18 AM and sent two crews to the four-story building. Firefighters confirmed positive gas readings and immediately ventilated the apartment to clear the toxic fumes.
Medical teams from the SEM treated the victims, whose condition was described as less serious. Four individuals were taken to Tortosa Hospital, while three others were transported to Amposta Hospital, including two minors.
