The Prou Urbanisme Inundable (PUI) campaign, active for one year, has intensified its demand to the Generalitat de Catalunya to immediately halt urban projects located in high flood risk areas, especially following the flash floods in the Montsià region.

The Prou Urbanisme Inundable (PUI) initiative was launched twelve months ago with the goal of protecting the territory against the increase in extreme weather events. The collective believes that the Catalan administration must prioritize citizen safety and environmental resilience over urban interests.
The demand gains special relevance after the recent episodes of intense rain that severely affected the municipalities located around the Montsià and Godall Mountains. These floods highlighted the vulnerability of certain infrastructures and the need for stricter territorial planning.
PUI activists emphasize that continuing projects in historically flood-prone areas is irresponsible, and they request the urgent application of corrective measures to prevent future human and material catastrophes in the Ebro area.
